Ahlan wa Sahlan Festival- Cairo, 2004

Begining and competitions

 

 

 

Shaba started learning oriental dance in 1998, at one of the first dance schools at the time, Tia Tifany’s school.

Her first performance on stage took place in 2000, as a member of Tia’s group.

Before belly dancing, he was engaged in Renaissance dances, from 1996 to 2000, she participated in the program of many Middle Ages styles events.

Apart from oriental dance, for several years (1997-2003) he was a member of Somi Panni’s Baratha Natjam school, overlapping with the results achieved in the developing oriental dance.

Her first competition performance took place at the 1st National Belly Dance Competition held in 2001.

This event later became known as Raqs Sharki competition.

Between 2001 and 2002, she was a solo dancer at the Shiraz Persian restaurant. This period helped her a lot to acquire the stage routine and provided opportunities to gain a lot of other experiences.

2002: won 4th place at the Raqs Sharqi Festival and Belly Dance Competition.

In the fall of 2002, she was a solo dancer at the Petőfi Hall Oriental Dance Festival and the Debrecen Oriental Dance Festival held in December.

2003 Miss Hastánc Hungary competition II. placed.

2003 Raqs Sharki competition, professional category 1st place.

2004. Raqs Sharqi – National Belly Dance Festival and Competition, group category 1st place, choreography 1st place (Art of Orient)

2005. Ahlan wa Sahlan dance competition, Cairo: Art of Orient with live band – group special prize

2007. National Dance Play Festival – National Dance Theater, Refectory: special award for performers, Festival organizer: National Association of Dance Teachers (Unheard and Immortal RAQS SHARQI 2007)

At this competition, a professional category, called Level 2, was announced for the first time, and it was the first belly dance competition held in Hungary in which Egyptian dance masters took part in the jury. The president of the jury is Dr. Mo Geddawi and the outstanding member of the jury is Mme Raqia Hassan.

The main prize of this competition was the participation in the Ahaln wa Sahlan dance festival in Cairo, sponsored by Egytair and an Egyptian travel agency. The main sponsor of the awards was Osama Gamaldeen and the main patron of the festival was Raqia Hassan.

Shaba was a solo dancer at the closing gala of the Ahaln wa Sahlan dance festival in Cairo, with a live band, in 2003-2004-2005.

Between 2005 and 2011, Shaba was a regular performer and occasional teacher at the Nile Group festival in Cairo. The main organizer of the festival is Mohamed Abu Shebika.

 

Art of Orient
Shaba was a member of the Art of Orient troupe between 2003-2005.
The dancers of the troupe were not students of Shaba Oriental Art, but teachers who already ran separate studios. Nieto Mercedes,Németh  Krisztina Amira, first Zefirah Áncsán Anikó, then Katalin Schaffer.
